4/05 to 12/13 AT&T
Vice President-External Affairs

Represented AT&T concerning governmental and community affairs in Dallas, and other cities.

Represented AT&T with federal, state and local governments, elected officials and staffs.

Registered as a lobbyist for AT&T, and worked 5 legislative sessions and several special sessions with
the Texas Legislature and lobbied federal elected officials on behalf of AT&T.

Led department initiative to improve coordination with emerging technology operations to produce desired results for AT&T,
external stakeholders & regulatory authorities and led team to report process to C Level Company Officers.

Applied newly acquired expertise to lead deployment strategies for new technologies and
coordinated with all departments in deploying new products.

Synthesized political assessments and special assignments and interpreted results for C Level Company Officers.

Originated, coordinated and executed interviews which resulted in earned media (electronic and print).

Represented AT&T Foundation to the public, coordinated with key stakeholders and conducted and
participated in media events, which resulted in improving outcomes for the Foundation.

Led Dallas District of 5 area managers and staff to support company operations in Dallas, El Paso, Midland

5/01 to 4/05 SBC
General Manager-External Affairs

Closely coordinated with all departments to ascertain delivery of services & to optimize company operations
and investment in El Paso, TX market to produce superior results.

Led the West Texas District to support operations in El Paso, Midland, Amarillo, Lubbock & Abilene.
Also, conceived and executed seamless succession plan upon departure.

Initiated outreach & created publicity which resulted in earned media in El Paso market.  

Registered as a lobbyist & worked 2 TX Legislative Sessions, as well in Washington DC to lobby
TX Congressional delegation to pass critical legislation for SBC.  

Represented SBC Foundation & administered Foundation & contribution budgets for West Texas District.

Applied newly acquired expertise to lead TX External Affairs in broadband deployment, and drove
rapid penetration of new products in El Paso and across TX.  

Served on numerous civic boards of directors, and held significant leadership positions,
which increased influence among decision makers in El Paso market.


9/00 to 5/01 SBC Telecom
Regional Vice President-External Affairs

Partnered with RVP-Sales to lead national expansion effort in Phoenix, AZ for SBC in achieving best results of all national expansion markets.   

Represented SBC Telecom in Phoenix, AZ and coordinated with all departments to achieve operational status,
from acquiring licenses and permits to interacting with community leadership.

Represented SBC Telecom as a registered lobbyist with Arizona Legislature, the Arizona Corporation Commission,
Arizona federal delegation, Tribes and other governmental entities.

Initiated outreach and generated publicity which resulted in earned media, and
increased influence among business leadership in metropolitan Phoenix.

Was asked to join the Scottsdale Arts Board of Directors, Scottsdale, AZ which raised corporate and personal profile in community.


10/87 to 9/00 Southwestern Bell Telephone/SBC
Area Manager-External Affairs

Closely coordinated with other company departments to ensure excellent service and results.

Registered as a lobbyist and worked 9 Oklahoma Legislative sessions, as well as working in Washington,
DC to lobby US Congress and present to FCC to pass initiatives for SBC.

Originated publicity to gain earned media through a variety of innovative methods.

Coordinated company efforts with Native American Tribes in Oklahoma.

Named to Oklahoma Workforce Commission by Governor Keating.

Served and led numerous civic boards and served as President of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma,
which greatly increased and improved corporate reputation.
